From Oulu/Finland

A large coffee by Kaj Stenvall, 1999

This card is part of big swapping project between Leena from Finland and me. I first got a card of Kaj Stenvall's Donald lookalike duck via official postcrossing and loved it! After discovering the postcrossing group on facebook I asked whether anybody have some more cards of Stenvall because I did not find any of them during my holiday in Helsinki last May. Somebody recommended having a conversation with Leena because she might have some - and this was the beginning of our swapping. All in all we are swapping five cards and I am looking for even more cards of Kaj Stenvall's duck. So please if you have any available for swap let me know!

From Lemesos/Cyprus

Moomin Characters
This lovely Moomin card was a direct swap via official postcrossing with Merja from Cyprus. I found her while searching for some nice cards to put on my favorites list. She had a link on her profile showing her swap cards and as I am big fan of The Moomins I had to ask her for swapping this card. On the card she gave me a little history lesson of Cyprus. Unfortunately there not so many postcrossers from Cyprus - but there should be some more if they have Moomin cards for swap!

From Taichung City/Taiwan

Best wishes
Today I got this cute cat postcard via direct swap with Alice from Taiwan. I did a lot of facebook swaps recently but actually would love to mail more cards via official postcrossing because there it is more surprising what you get. Unfortunately it always takes a long time until the cards are arriving and I am utterly impatient concerning postcards. And of course I love to have something nice in my mail.

To Groningen/The Netherlands

A walk at the sea side
This card went out to Sander in Groningen/The Netherlands via official postcrossing today - one of the few male postcrossers I were lucky to send a postcard to. There are a lot more female postcrossers than male ones. I guess it is more femalish hobby?! But Sander's profile and collection of cards impressed me a lot. It took me longer than usual to decide which card to send because I wanted to make a valuable addition to his collection. I hope I did not fail to do so.

From Helsinki/Finland

Moomin Characters Snorkmaiden
I got this card yesterday and I simply love it! Talle from the postcrossing group on facebook was offering some of her received postcards which she said would be over 500 - probably because she had too many of them. I asked for a Moomin card because they are only to buy in Finland and I love those...Moomins. Instead of sending me one of her received cards I got this brand new card showing Snorkmaiden at her best.

To Svetlogorsk/Belarus

Allium
This postcard I sent today via official postcrossing to Svetlana in Belarus.

To Darmstadt/Germany

Flower by Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) painted in 1897
Sent to a very close friend of mine. I bought this postcard in Prague where I spent New Year's Eve and visited the Mucha-Museum. I adore his works!
Three of my friends and me have a little challenge going on. Because we live in different parts of Germany or even Europe now for studying we were afraid that our friendship would suffer under the distance. Therefore we decided to write a postcard to everybody on every first Friday of the month to keep the others informed about what's going on. Of course there's facebook and Skype and e-mails but it's not the same as having a nice old fashioned postcard waiting for you in the mail.
